Sarah Taylor at M&S Head Office
In 2001 we presented recent works by emerging artist Sarah Taylor from her ‘Lace Series’ for the senior managers’ dining suite at Marks & Spencer’s head office on Baker Street.
Over a period of over 10 years, we curated a series of exhibitions as part of an annual exhibition programme at Marks & Spencer’s headquarters in Baker Street that aimed to drive debate and discussion within the office context and expand the employees’ perspectives.
We showcased the work of emerging and mid-career artists working in a diverse range of media including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, drawing, ceramics, glass and textiles to give an overview of the contemporary arts and crafts scene in the UK. Some 1,300 artists were exhibited over 90 exhibitions between 1993-2004.
Chaplins, Part I
Between 2001 – 2005 we curated a number of exhibitions for high end furniture store Chaplins and showcased the work of young emerging artists amongst modern designer furniture.
Here showing the work of Josie McCoy, Alan Brooks, Alison Dalwood, David FitzJohn and Ed Hodgkinson.
‘The Hand that Feeds’, David Hugo
For ‘The Hand that Feeds’, David Hugo responded to the re-development of the Exchange Putney, incorporating a large Waitrose supermarket by looking at the global supply chains that underpin the large variety of fresh produce offered to shoppers.
‘The transportation of goods through the medium of air and water is reflected in the experience of moving through the environment, of the access corridor and so the artwork. The artwork has been designed to offer a variety of different points of view and so different visual and perceptual experiences every time he or she encounters the work’ (David Hugo).
We commissioned ‘The Hand that Feeds’ in 1997 on behalf of Mercury Asset Management.
