Private Collections
We provide a bespoke service for contemporary art collectors. We work closely with our clients and provide expert advice in building and managing existing art collections, as well as starting new collections. We have established a reputation for identifing exciting and significant artists early in their careers.
We have acquired work, on behalf of our clients, by both internationally acclaimed and emerging artists, including Eva Hesse, Joseph Kosuth, Pipilotti Rist, David Shrigley, Martin Parr, Sandra Blow, David Zink Yi, Inventory, Justin Mortimer, Alan Brooks and Christopher Bucklow.
Heathrow Collection
In 2015 HS Projects was invited by Heathrow Airport to re-assess and evaluate their art collection during a period of the company’s re-structuring.
In close consultation with our client, we selected a number of works originally commissioned as part of the BAA Art Programme (1994 to 1999) and earlier acquisitions that have relevance to Heathrow, its re-structured business and brand. These works formed the Heathrow Art Collection.
We curated and installed the works into their new corporate head office at The Compass Centre, Heathrow Airport. In re-siting the works, we considered the original criteria and purpose of the work in identifying sites to ensure the integrity of the work is maintained in its new location.
The Heathrow Collection includes works by Brendan Neiland, Robyn Denny, Victor Pasmore, Sandra Blow, Marcia Raff, Guy Noble, Jonathan Waller and Adrian Hemming.
Norton Rose Collection
HS Projects was invited by Norton Rose in 2005 to evaluate their existing art collection, assess its relevance and help in re-structuring it. The collection had been amassed over many decades without any vision or structure, consequently many of the works did not reflect Norton Rose, an international law partnership whose average age was under 30. Through close consultation with our clients, we drew out themes that expressed the company as it had evolved over the years.
Following a detailed report and a number of recommendations, we acquired a number of works on behalf of Norton Rose that reflected the ethos of the organisation. We acquired work by exciting emerging artist Grazia Toderi, a Golden Lion award recipient at the Venice Biennale as well as promising emerging artists Sharon Hall and Ed Hodgkinson. We also sold works at auction that were no longer relevant to the collection, with the proceeds re-invested into purchasing works for the new collection.
